Summary

This is a story for anyone with a decent reading level, and can read slang. The story is called The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County by Mark Twain. In this story an obsessive gambler named Jim Smiley has to bet on everything that he sees. One day he finds a frog and catches the frog. Jim teaches the frog how to jump far and high. He puts a big bet on the frog that it can jump higher than any other frog. While Smiley goes to find the other man a frog, the guy stays with Smileys frog and feeds him quail shot. When Smiley gets back they have the contest and Smileys frog cannot jump high because of his massive weight. The other man takes his money from the bet and happily leaves. Smiley picks up his frog and realizes that it's heavy. He gets extremely angry and chases after the guy, but never finds him. This comes to show that betting on everything can have a bad outcome and leave you with nothing. The actors and actresses in the story did a very good job. They had allot of enthusiasm while preforming and caught the attention of the audience.
